SIMPLY BRIDAL ETIQUETTE - USHERS
The ushers are the best mans cavalry and are there to assist him on the day. They need to be well turned out and
well organised. Ushers are usually close friends of the bride and grooms families, and it is
useful to have a mixture of the two. Hopefully all bonded at the stag do.
On the day they welcome guests at the church, hand out service sheets and accompany important or elderly
guests to their seats. It is usual to have one usher for every 50 guests.
They direct brides family to the left of the church and grooms to the right, the same seating rule applies to
any type of ceremony.
After the service the ushers help guide guests or transport them to the reception,
they should be the last to leave the church to ensure
there are no stragglers.
