SIMPLY BRIDAL BRIDESMAIDS ETIQUETTE
The chief bridesmaid can help with the wedding planning and even help the bride choose her outfit.
The hen night is a large responsibility of the chief bridesmaid, this must not be held on the night before the wedding
for obvious reasons. It may be spread over a weekend - maybe at a lovely spa or a weekend in London or Paris.
There are companies which specialise in hen and stag do's that make things much easier.
Another lovely idea is to rent a cottage or country house for a weekend.
On the day the chief bridesmaid will need to keep the bride calm and collected. She needs to help her dress
and take charge of all the other bridemaids, making sure they're dressed and ready on time.
She greets the bride at the church, checks her appearance, rearranges her dress and veil if necessary.
It helps if the bride is very close to her bridesmaid as she may have a fit of nerves and need the loo
before leaving for the church.
It is also part of her job to get along with the best man for the day and even have a
dance with him in the evening.
